LME, Inc. is a family owned and operated Midwestern LTL carrier seeking an Operations Manager who is organized, experienced and highly-motivated to oversee operations in our Des Moines Iowa terminal.
This includes but not limited to employee relations, customer service, asset management and maintenance while adhering to all Federal, State and Local laws with regard to DOT regulations.
Job Duties:
-Plan, implement and oversee the work of staff members and drivers to ensure efficiency and compliance with organizational requirements, company procedures, policies and government regulations
-Conduct ongoing safety audits, meet with individual staff members, attend company safety meetings and participate or direct other work activities designed to promote work safety and encourage continuing education among staff members
-Implement changes to transportation services, policies or scheduling as needed
-Collaborate with staff members and fellow managers to create, modify and implement goals, procedures, policies and objectives when the opportunity presents itself
-Communicate with customers to maintain delivery schedule efficiency and customer satisfaction
-Cover vacations of hub and inbound supervisors including taking lead when the Terminal Manager is on vacation.
Job Requirements:
-Knowledge and understanding of the Transportation Industry
-Manager-supervisor experience required
-Strong leadership and team building skills
-Ability to manage and motivate a fleet of 20 plus drivers
-Computer knowledge of Microsoft office and AS400 platform
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Effective organizational and multitasking skills
-Truck Trailer knowledge a plus
-Traveling and working in other terminals will be required
