A Barback or runner, as they are commonly known, is a bartender's assistant. A barback would be responsible for filling beer and pop coolers, stocking kitchen supplies, filling ice bins and bar equipment, collecting empty glasses, and maintaining the premises clean. A barback is also responsible to help clean up after private parties. No bartending required.
A Short Order Cook is someone in a restaurant kitchen who cooks food that can be prepared easily and quickly. Responsible for maintaining a stocked and clean kitchen.
