Job Summary: Responsible for maintaining agency grounds by using equipment owned by the agency on a regular, weather dependent schedule. Knows how to use various lawn equipment, maintenance tools, and supplies and is aware of the possible hazards in using them. Perform routine and preventative maintenance and repair on agency owned grounds equipment. Mowing, trimming, raking, pruning, mulching, fertilizing, yard waste disposal, watering, etc. as needed. Maintains records & reports and completes work requests as assigned. Assist other maintenance staff as needed. Maintain positive, appropriate, cooperative relationships with individuals served (as well as their guardians as appropriate) and agency staff while promoting a positive image of Area Residential Care in the community at-large.
Qualifications: High school diploma/G.E.D./H.S.E.D; Six months of consistent work experience; 12th grade level of reading, math, and writing skills; Ability to work independently or in a group with co-workers; Ability to lift/transfer 20lbs and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds; Requires a valid drivers license and a driving record that meets agency authorized driver criteria; Ability to use mowers, weed trimmers, and other equipment for grounds maintenance; Experience driving a pickup truck with equipment trailer is preferred.
