The Senior Information Technology Site Lead manages the daily and strategic site activities within the Digital & Technology (D&T) Global Infrastructure Team. This candidate will play a pivotal role in leading the daily Information Technology operations of a General Mills Manufacturing Site. Through the formation of key partnerships with plant leadership the successful candidate with bring the Digital and Technology Strategies to life.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Solutions
  • Design , implement, and maintain all IT infrastructure systems to ensure reliable service
    • Deep expertise of site technology portfolio, with the ability to connect capabilities to key business initiatives
    • Partner with site Technical, Engineering, and CIS teams to support plant operations and projects, ensuring reliable site IT infrastructure
    • Evangelize IT security concepts to key customers and users, with a focus of enabling those audiences to further understand their role in managing cyber security risks to the corporation and the local site.
    • Own and implement programs and systems to mitigate physical and cyber security risks for all local IT systems, data, and infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to, physical infrastructure security, enforcement of global corporate security policy, and data attestations and reporting.
  • Evaluate and implement IT solutions following General Mills policies, standards, and guidelines.
    • Partner with resources and Solution Technology Leaders to evaluate and advance business-driven solutions.
    • Exhibit active leadership within site project teams and broader initiatives, ensuring appropriate use of technology, as well as always keeping informed of industry trends and emerging technologies.
    • Lead efforts to simplify, standardize, and sustain IT solutions for supply chan solutions partners and customers.
  • Demonstrate a strong, self-led initiative to identify opportunities and lead focused teams, aligned with priorities

Strategic Leadership
  • Partner with Regional IT Manager and Technology Solution Leadership to plan and optimize the site's IT budget, contracts, and projects
  • Establish regular engagement with site leadership team to ensure alignment and visibility
  • Actively lead, develop, communicate, and support Supply Chain Field Solutions strategic roadmap and centralization efforts, as well as Plant Technology Recovery and Strategic Master Plan

Tactical Leadership
  • Provide direction to local IT team on active or upcoming project and support tasks, helping to prioritize against established timelines and collaborating through any task roadblocks or challenges
  • Ensure adherence to General Mills policies, standards, and guidelines including required audits

Team Development
  • Lead site team through regular task prioritization, coaching discussions, and training opportunities, providing support for individual professional and career development efforts
  • Provide regular feedback to Regional IT Manager on team performance and opportunities
  • Partner with Regional IT Manager on hiring decisions

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a professional IT role.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Quick technology learner in addition to supporting basic software platforms, the successful candidate will be required to quickly develop a working knowledge of our more specialized software applications, in order to assist with creating documentation and providing support to teams.
  • A true "self-starter". We are a small team and need someone to bring the full breadth of their skills, expertise, leadership and intellect to work every day to help the business grow and not be content to simply complete tasks and wait for direction.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks autonomously and effectively.
  • A team player who enjoys a friendly but professional team dynamic.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Excellent IT troubleshooting skills. As new IT issues arise, the candidate must be to able independently and effectively analyze and research solutions, utilizing public information on the internet as well as 3 rd party vendor documentation and support.
  • Strong Bias for Action: Our fast-paced environment will bring unique challenges and require a candidate to think on their feet.
  • Detail Oriented. Someone who will get the small things right and leave no stone unturned in the quest for precision and accuracy.
  • Strong experience with IT security best-practices, including the use of password managers, anti-virus, account management and password policies.
  • Strong experience with the Microsoft O365
  • Knowledge or experience of a manufacturing environment
