Full salary range: $64,792,00 – $81,556.80
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Job summary:
Under direction, researches and reviews applications for rezoning and development proposals. Prepares policy proposals and implementation measures regarding current and long-range urban planning. Provides staff assistance to various City boards and commissions. Organizes public outreach and resident planning workshops to update comprehensive plan, including district plans and historic and conservation districts. Drafts amendments to comprehensive plan and district plans based on research and public input. Meets with public, community organizations and local media regarding ongoing development issues. Prepares public presentations related to long-range planning efforts or legislative changes.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in urban planning or in a related field from an educational institution accredited by a DOE recognized accreditation body required. One year of experience in urban planning required. Master’s degree from an educational institution accredited by a DOE recognized accreditation body may substitute for experi¬ence requirement. Must pass criminal background check.
Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree from an educational institution accredited by a DOE recognized accreditation body and three years of experience preferred. Design skills and education or experience with form-based codes and historic preservation are desirable
