Video editor needed
Feature-length, serio-comic documentaryCowJews and Indians (reviewed as Borat meets Michael Moore)needs a finishing editor fluent with Final Cut Pro 7. I have a second project which also needs a finishing editor but can be completed in Premier. (Why Black Comedians Matter"). To do this work I would need to fly you out to my studio near a small town in Iowa, where you would stay in a rooming house. My estimate is that the work would take a week or two, and if we were to finish earlier, I would like to have work uploaded to amazon prime. (That may involve a lot of technical stuff involving formats, metadata, etc., etc.)

CowJews and Indians in its current form has already shown at two dozen festivals, so it's already been "completed," but I need to execute some afterthoughts, solve a music problem, etc., etc. It's a tricky, complex intellectual film. In its current form it was recently screened at Cornell University (in Ithaca, NY) and sponsored by several academic departments. Im trying to say that its a very academic, cerebral film. Both films are, actually.
I'm not technical at all, but thinking out loud, Im wondering whether CowJews and Indians, in its current state, could be dumped onto your laptop running premier. To find that out, you would have to have a conversation with the last editor who knows what's what technically with the film in its current state.
The pay is modest because Im not an independent filmmakerIm a mom-and-pop filmmaker. Independent filmmaker would be a step up for me.
Your experience should be at a high level.
The weather conditions this winter, I must say, have been unpredictable. Unseasonably warm, followed by ice storms, when it's impossible to drive from town 5 miles, mostly on dirt/gravel road, to my modern log, Vedic greenhouse in a 20 acre forest (it's beautiful here).
I think what would be important is to have a detailed conversation with you (and I would pay you for that time) after you have watched both of these films. (Together they are little bit less than two hours of viewing time).
