You'll get to:- Provide technical support, expertise, and documentation for identifying and correcting quality related issues in welded steel products
- Identification and disposition of nonconforming parts, scrap, and returned items using database and web-based applications and systems.
- Define and manage quality hold areas including department red tag areas, site red tag area, and returns.
- Root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for quality issues at the supplier level, internally, and at the customer level (warranty).
- Maintain strong interface internally with product engineering, manufacturing engineering, maintenance, and operations to support challenges and improvements relating to quality.
- Provide support, process control, training, documentation and perform audits for site functions and activities in accordance with group ISO standards and quality policy.
- Support quality related functions relating to changes from new product development, supplier development, sourcing, and engineering change notices.
- Identify nonconformance and process capability for suppliers using first article inspection and supplier audits.
- Provide routine reports on all quality related activities including warranty and cost of poor quality.
- Oversee projects from cradle to grave including specifying project needs, vendor interaction, routine progress reporting, documentation, and resource allocation.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years previous work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- A basic knowledge of LEAN principles and practices and established manufacturing procedures preferred.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality program requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written skills plus the ability to conduct effective meetings.
