Position Overview:
The Benefits and Personnel Specialist will be responsible for performing benefit-related duties on a professional level and work closely with HR management in supporting the company and employees. This is a full-time position, reports to the HR Manager and has no supervisory responsibility.
Essential Duties and Functions:
Maintain human resource information system that records electronic employee personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements by processing personnel and benefit changes
Review benefit enrollment forms to ensure accuracy, contact employees for errors or missing information and coordinate enrollment with third party administrators
Coordinate health, life and disability insurance enrollments and communicate with service providers concerning routine administration of programs while serving as a liaison between all health plan representatives and employees
Administer layoff procedure and ensure compliance with Seasonal Layoff guidelines by preparing letters and other paperwork as directed, receive and record insurance premium payments
Ensure compliance with ACA guidelines by tracking and documenting all necessary information to ensure accurate 1094C/1095C documentation
Provide benefit deduction data and 401K contribution documentation to payroll in a timely manner
Review and assure compliance with Federal and State regulations as it affects employment and benefits
Prepare special reports and records as requested
Prepare, develop, maintain, disperse employee communication and educational materials regarding benefits for all insured employees
Ensure all applicable compliance notices are current and are made available to all employees
Assist in the reconciliation of health plan monthly eligibility reports and premium reports from medical and flex plan administrators
Perform monthly, quarterly and annual audits of employee benefit plans including, but not limited to, 401k, medical and flexible spending accounts
Assist department by managing invoices, accounts, tracking and distribution of all company personnel assets including alarm codes, cell phones, and phone and internet provider accounts.
Position Requirements:

Must be able to pass a drug test
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and professionally communicate with employees, executive team and external parties
Strong communication, problem solving, analysis and time management skills
Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail
Computer skills and MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook Calendars, Publisher, PowerPoint)
Ethical conduct and strict confidentiality in all matters!
Grasp new concepts quickly and have a strong comprehension of assignments
Be a team player and support job functions outside customary job duties
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
Associate’s degree in benefit or human resource related field
Two years of experience in benefit administration or Human Resource experience
Similar combination of education and experience
