Electrical Maintenance Supervisor

Safety Accountability

  • Lead, direct, coach, counsel, demonstrate, teach, walk, talk…the personal and operational safety accountability first culture.
  • Participate as a member to the Safety Action Team and its sub-committees.
  • Manage departmental and shift Safety Audit process with direct reports and co-workers.
  • Create work orders to correct safety defects as a result from the audits, direct resources to correct safety defects, and ensure follow-through on defect correction/completion.
  • Support and project manage assigned safety suggestions befitting the scope of the manager’s accountabilities and responsibilities.

Instrument & Electrical Technician Supervision

  • Direct I/E technicians to implement necessary repairs and/or changes as requested by production managers.
  • Develop daily working schedules/issue work orders for same.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner and correct to maintain a workable CMMS system.
  • Ensure effort and quality of work of technicians.
  • Implement and enforce work and safety policies/procedures.
  • Instruct and monitor operations personnel and contract workers when supplementing maintenance personnel in performance of scheduled work.

Work Scheduling

  • Participate in weekly planning/scheduling meetings with Operations to prioritize repairs, preventive maintenance and project work according to labor, equipment and operational availability and capability.
  • Manage daily work of scheduled contractors/vendors and/or equipment delivery as needed.
  • Work with production and shift managers to schedule/minimize downtime for repairs.
  • Ensure minimum downtime and maximum performance of facility equipment.

Administrative

  • Develop and maintain preventive/predictive maintenance procedures in the CMMS.
  • Ensure an acceptable completion rate for scheduled work.
  • Support collection and maintenance of equipment information in CMMS as assigned.
  • Collect and enter hours worked into CMMS as required.
  • Approve/Deny clocked overtime work for technicians.
  • Approve/Deny requested vacation days for technicians.
  • Perform studies on serious maintenance issues and repetitive breakdowns utilizing the production and engineering expertise available.
  • Develop technician’s daily working schedule.
  • Issue work orders and required permits as needed.
  • Verify all work documentation is monitored for accuracy and that it is completed in a timely manner to maintain a workable CMMS system.

Purchasing

  • Collect information for needed parts for repairs and/or projects.
  • Recommend vendors for purchasing to gather quotes for needed parts, equipment and services.
  • Request purchase of needed parts, equipment and services through purchasing.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 10 years’ experience with supervisory responsibilities in a manufacturing setting.
  • Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in maintenance repairs field
  • College degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred. College degree can be substituted for some experience.
  • Knowledge in the following is preferred: HAZWOPER, Arc Flash Hazard, ISO safety, environmental and quality standards
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze problems and make recommendations for resolution
  • Good computer skills, particularly in the Microsoft Suite
  • Demonstrated skills in a CMMS system.
  • SAP experience preferred
