Tableau Developer/System Analyst

This position is with an essential company and the selected candidate will need to be onsite daily in Kansas City,

POSITION PURPOSE:The position is responsible for professional work in developing BI/Analytics and data visualization solutions to improve business processes. The candidate must create Tableau dashboard reports, create business intelligence reports and visualizations and work with IT and business stakeholders in the design of engaging and interactive business insights.The incumbent will focus on developing solutions that satisfy business requirements at an agreed upon cost and schedule. Must be able to share knowledge of and provide training on the Tableau software to help insure the most efficient and effective use of the data analytics and visualization solutions. The incumbent must be able to provide application development and analyst support to the business areas that will be utilizing Tableau. The incumbent will be expected to work self-motivated with minimal supervision.

MINIMAL EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Five (5) years demonstrated work experience. At least five years of experience designing and developing business intelligence dashboards using Tableau. At least five years in User Interface UI, User Experience UX space demonstrable with evidence of using a combination of user interface tools such as wire frames, prototypes, mock-ups, or white boarding to illustrate product usability. Experience working with large and complex data set and able to write complex queries to create calculated fields. Empirical understanding of data systems (BI analytics, data blending, data warehousing, data ETL, etc.) on process automation and standardization. Experience working in a support team environment documenting, researching, and solving problems via phone calls or an email ticketing system. Experience working directly with business analysts or business sponsors to gather and validate functional requirements and provide design specifications. Experience working closely with Data Base Administrator (DBA) to ensure data sources are accurate, available and analyzable. Hands on experience with Tableau Desktop (dashboard creation, report authoring and troubleshooting, data source management). Experience creating and editing SQL queries within Tableau to build calculated fields. Experience creating interactive filters, parameters and calculations for preparing dashboards and worksheets in Tableau. Experience building and publishing interactive dashboards on Tableau Server. Experience with SQL Server and Oracle databases. Experience collaborating with DBA, programmers, and QA analysts to test, clean, and standardized data to meet the business requirements. Experience with management and administration of Tableau Server. Must have the confidence to work cross-functionally with various departments including business stakeholders and technical personnel to exchange ideas. Must have excellent verbal communications skills and documentation skills to maintain work flows and dashboard functionality. Must have the ability to work on multiple projects and the flexibility to change priorities when needed. Must be able to train and support Tableau end users (information consumers and power users) Knowledge or experience in the Utility Industry a plus.

PERSONAL SKILLS Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and excel at meeting deadlines Must possess strong interpersonal communication, problem solving, analytical, and possess customer service focus skills. Must be proficient in MS Office and SharePoint Must possess excellent written and verbal skills. Must be able to develop and present presentations of developed dashboards and visualizations.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:1. Provide expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical projects and systems. 2. Define the nature and objective of the system or system improvements to be developed.3. Resolve highly complex technical issues and conducts advanced research. 4. Prepare program specifications for assigned projects. 5. Lead the formulation and review of plans outlining steps required to develop programs to meet staff and user requirements. 6. Executing, Coding, assembling, de-bugging and documenting programs. 7.
