- Apply solid knowledge of network technologies to perform network administration support and analysis functions to ensure the uptime, performance, resource availability and security of the networks, according to operational guidelines.
- Monitor network devices, interfaces, and applications for connectivity and optimal performance.
- Provide network support to users; identify and troubleshoot routine to moderately complex, problems.
- Communicate networking issues to internal or external customers and to Management.
- Identify opportunities for how network performance can be improved.
- Monitor network devices, interfaces, and applications via LogicMonitor.
- Correlate multiple network and customer issues identified with alarms/alerts received.
- Create and track incident tickets and assignments.
- Ensure issue outage notification event communications.
- Initiate major outage communication technical bridges.
- Complete service level tasks including IP address requests, DNS requests, and account provisioning requests.
- Install and test network software including upgrades, fixes, and patches.
- Implement and utilize network monitoring and performance tools.
- Perform periodic cabling efforts (installs, changes, removals).
- Work independently and receive general guidance on new work activity.
- 1+ years of network administration experience including:
- Utilizing Cisco network equipment;
- Monitoring network diagnostic and network analytics tools;
- Configuring, deploying, and optimizing Layer-2 and Layer-3 internetworking devices, specifically Cisco products;
- Troubleshooting network related issues;
- Implementing and utilizing network monitoring and performance tools;
- Installing and testing network software including upgrades, fixes, and patches.
- Ability to understand routing protocols and IPsec tunneling, as well implement traffic shaping and policing on the network.
- Travel 1-3 times per-year as needed.
- CCNA or equivalent Cisco certifications.
