RESPONSIBILITIES: MSO Field Operator is an infrastructure maintenance position that will perform a variety of skilled, semi-skilled, manual labor activities and duties related to the maintenance and repair of public infrastructure. The position may be assigned to the collection/distribution system maintenance, street maintenance (concrete and asphalt), storm water construction and maintenance, levee maintenance or airport maintenance, and will be cross-trained in field maintenance operations. All crews assist with special in-house construction projects, may be assigned to assist other crews, provide emergency response and seasonal snow removal and may include 12-hour shifts working days and/or nights.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Three years of increasingly responsible heavy equipment operation, construction, or building trades preferred. Must possess valid Kansas drivers license; will require Class A or Class B Commercial Drivers License depending on assigned workgroup. Must acquire job-required certifications within 24/42 months of hire for continued employment. The successful candidate must pass the City background check post-offer City physical and drug screen.
