Job Description

Production

1. Determines daily production goal at start of shift, assigns personnel and determines use of machines to achieve this goal.

2. Arranges proper flow of raw material and finished product in order to expedite production

3. Communicates progress towards goal to the appropriate Manager

4. Recommends measures to improve production methods

5. Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers

Safety

1. Maintains a safe work area

2. Ensures associates work safely

3. Ensures that injured employees are returned to restricted duty

4. Inspects work area for safety hazards and corrects the hazard.

Training

1. Instructs employees in proper operating procedures

2. Trains new employees

Quality

1. Monitors quality in their work area

2. Ensures only quality product leaves their work area

3. Monitors quality of output and takes appropriate action, including shutdown of process, to prevent out of spec production

Waste Minization

1. Utilizes raw materials efficiently

2. Minizies scrap

Recordkeeping

1. Production reports completed accurately and timely

2. Safety reports completed accurately and timely

People

1. Responsible for time sheets, missing punch sheets, attendance, vacation requests, employee reviews, status changes, discipline.

2. Listens to employee feedback

3. Maintains open communication with associates

4. Instructs subordinates in proper operating procedures to achieve accepted quality standards

5. Responsible for enforcing the company handbook and attendance rules.
