Job Description

Summary:The Division Controller is responsible for developing leading all strategic financial and technology activities of the organization. Assist and contribute in the development and obtainment of company’s Strategic Business Plan. Provide overall direction and leadership to the Accounting and IT functions. Facilitate the development of departmental resources to meet Company objectives.

Core Responsibilities: Provide direction and leadership to Accounting and IS Department Managers, assisting them in formulating departmental goals, establishing key benchmarks and assisting them in prioritizing duties in alignment with the organizational goals. Review progress periodically. Primary responsibility for assuring all financial transactions are in compliance with GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley and all other required financial accounting standards. In conjunction with ITW Group or sub-Group Controllers, may develop and administer Company accounting policies and procedures as they apply to the specific business. Coordinate the annual physical inventories. Provide monthly, and in some cases weekly, reporting monitoring and analysis of all inventories and inventory reserves. Coordinate the annual unit costing process and provide Management with analysis of ongoing cost changes. Directs preparation of financial reports and related value-added analysis schedules and programs. Communicates company’s financial status and progress to Management. Establish and/or recommend to Management major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies for the company. Prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification. Preparation of Long-Range Plan, Annual Operating Plan, and monthly/weekly current Outlooks. Presentation of monthly financial results to the Management. Special analysis to highlight areas for business improvement as directed by the GM and ITW Group Controller. May be required to maintain the historical fact book for the respective business and the recasting of historical data as deemed necessary. Supervise business unit’s financial and accounting functions including but not limited to cost, general, sales, and plant accounting. Understand and utilize the ITW toolbox in all aspects of the job including prioritizing work assignments and developing work processes. Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business from 4-year college/university. MBA , MA, CPA, and/or CMA a plus. Minimum 6 years progressive work-related experience including minimum 1 year Supervisory / Management experience. Must have proficient knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Responsible for evaluating the performance of personnel of direct reports to ensure they are operating and the highest level of skill necessary to meet company needs and objectives. Maintains the company's system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets. Responsible for tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes. Furnishes internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnishes external reports as necessary
