NIC’s Healthcare Solutions division is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) and solutions expert who thrives in fast-paced environments to join our team as our

Director of Prescription Monitoring Product Strategy. The ideal candidate should come from a private or public healthcare background and fully understand what it takes to develop and deliver software and services solutions specific to fighting substance use disorder to healthcare clients. You will be the product evangelist and will play an integral role and have responsibility over the product ideation, client and market feedback, go to market strategy, client satisfaction and cost/revenue objectives required for developing and delivering a successful product. The current product that will be managed by this candidate is as follows:

RxGov is technology that state agencies (departments of health, boards of pharmacy, etc.) leverage for their Prescription Drug Management Program. This technology integrates with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), prescribers, pharmacies, state investigators, and data submitters. This is one of the tools that is used by states to address the Opioid Epidemic.

Product Strategy:

  • Serve as the subject matter and industry expert for the product
  • Market intelligence – be the expert on our buyers, who they are, key buying criteria
  • Plan the launches, releases, and manage the cross-functional implementation
  • Serve as primary thought leader for the product including assisting in demonstrations during the sales process, primary source of education for all stakeholders
  • Drive the road map, in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Product Strategy, with the development team
  • Develop marketing plan for product in conjunction with our marketing team, including key activities and budgets to support the retention of existing customers and the acquisition of new customers
  • Collaborate with product management and marketing communications to develop product positioning and messaging that resonates with our target buyer personas
  • Drive and accept the product changes with the Development Team’s QA
  • Manage the bug and feature request queue
  • Drive grooming reviews for reported bugs and enhancements
  • Perform training sessions during implementation
  • Manage relationships and expectations of technical stakeholders
  • Oversee execution of integration development activities performed by technical team
  • Lead the effort of maintaining accurate and informative documentation
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Reports to the Vice President, Healthcare Solutions

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of PDMP clinical experience working in a private or public healthcare organization, ideally as a PDMP administrator or product manager delivering related software solutions to healthcare clients
  • Credentialed Pharmacist, Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner or Medical Doctor (MD or OD)
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience either delivering consumer-facing platform services or deep collaboration with a 3rd party provider on behalf of your organization, designing and delivering a product
  • Experience with pharmacy workflows
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholder groups, communicate to senior groups
  • Demonstrable experience with influencing and collaborating with development teams and/or internal and external executives in high stakes environments
  • Ability to translate business requirements into well-articulated technical requirements
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to design and articulate solutions
  • Ability to travel to run training sessions and attend other meetings
  • Exceptional ROI-tracking skills, able to prove what is – or isn’t - working
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented

Desired Knowledge / Experience:

  • 4+ years in a clinical product management role
  • Familiarity with the public health sector of healthcare, its challenges and where opportunities exist
  • Processes: Experience with Agile SCRUM, Pragmatic Marketing Framework, Microservices and API-first architecture
  • Tools: Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Development Technologies: Awareness of Microsoft .NET stack, XML, JSON, Azure Cloud, and Power BI
  • Standard Technologies: FHIR, SMART on FHIR, IHE
  • Proficiency with collaboration and agile tools (Azure DevOps, JIRA, Confluence)
  • Data analytics experience with technology specific tools, e.g. R, SAS, Python, SPSS, MS Excel, SQL, MS Access
