This position will be in Kansas City, MO Summary: Honeywell (Federal Manufacturing and Technology) FM&T is seeking a professional interested in exploring an Industrial Hygiene (I.H.) career at the Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC). This position serves as a I.H. Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) Department of Honeywell FM&T. This individual will assist in the development of activities and programs directed toward preventing accidents, eliminating health and safety hazards and achieving compliance with current I.H. codes, standards, regulations, and Department of Energy (DOE) directives Provides code interpretation as SMEs to HS&E managers and line management to achieve compliance with applicable I.H. codes and standards (NFPA, IFC, IBC)
Develops equivalencies, exemptions, and other I.H. documents required by DOE or regulatory agencies
Reviews plant facilities, equipment, materials, and work practices to identify unsafe conditions and assure implementation of appropriate controls for I.H. risk
Reviews proposed layouts, facility design drawings and equipment specifications for I.H. code and standard compliance and documents findings for corrective action
Develops orientations and training programs related to I.H. for employees
Completes investigations for incidents to determine causes and recommends action to prevent recurrence
Works with plant supervision, union representation and employees to resolve I.H. concerns
Supports in development and implementation of emergency management and related programs
Supports Operational Readiness Reviews, Beneficial Occupancy Inspections, Hazard Assessments, Risk Assessment, and other investigations
You Must Have:
2 or more years of experience in Industrial Hygiene
Bachelor from an accredited engineering or engineering technology curriculum related to the field of Industrial Hygiene
United States citizen
