This position will be in Kansas City, MO Summary of Duties: This position primarily provides course instruction to Protective Force personnel to ensure the level of proficiency required by federal regulations, DOE directives, and Protective Force guidance is achieved and maintained
This position may also oversee and direct day to day Protective Force operations to ensure the level of operational proficiency required by federal regulations, DOE directives, and Protective Force guidance is achieved and maintained
Supervises Protective Force personnel and implements Department of Energy (DOE) security requirements necessary to protect all Kansas City National Security Campus facilities, classified material, and personnel within areas of responsibility to preclude unauthorized access, conversion, theft or intentional destruction
This position has armed security force accountability
You Must Have:
Must be a US Citizen, to obtain and maintain a DOE Level ""Q"" security clearance.
Bachelor’s Degree in related field of study, or equivalent combination of formal education and security training/experience or two additional years of direct work experience in lieu of
a Bachelor's degree. At least one year experience as a Security Police Officer at HFM&T or equivalent and at least three years’ experience in the armed forces security, military police or with a law enforcement, public or private sector security organization
Willingness to work a flexible schedule with varying hours to meet the department’s mission and training requirements
Valid state driver's license
Ability to meet DOE Firearms, Physical fitness, and psychological health standards and comply with all applicable legal statutes
Must be able to perform duties wearing personal protective equipment
We Value:
Top Secret/SCI security clearance or DOE ""Q"" security clearance.
Knowledge of physical security systems
Experience preparing and conducting armed forces security, military police, or law enforcement, public or private sector security organization training
Demonstrated ability to supervise plant protection personnel
Excellent communication (both oral and written), organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Must be able to interact tactfully with all levels of management and provide project leadership.
Exhibit organizational/task prioritization skills
Experience working in a dynamic team environment
Knowledge of computer applications required
