Worship Coordinator First Christian Church
Position Description (part-time 25 hours/week)
Mission
The Worship Coordinator will help our neighbors experience Gods radical love by providing direct leadership of the worship ministry and teams at First Christian Church.
Position Grade: Part-time/Salaried/Exempt
Ministry Team: Worship
Reporting Relationship: First Christian Church Senior Pastor
The Worship Coordinator serves as a member of the First Christian Church staff and is responsible for:
Shepherding and leadership of the worship team volunteers for First Christian Church.
Oversight and Leadership of worship planning and implementation for First Christian Church.
Oversight and management of worship technology and tech teams for First Christian Church.
Oversight, management, and participation in music planning and leadership.
Worship Volunteer Teams
The Worship Coordinator shepherds, leads and manages all worship and tech team volunteers for First Christian Church
Result #1: The Worship Coordinator has met regularly with individual volunteers for the purpose of building relations and shepherding (at least 1x per week).
Result #2: The Worship Coordinator has designed a strategy of team meetings and gatherings that help team members find belonging, care and relational connection.
Result #3: The Worship Coordinator has recruited and trained enough volunteers to maintain multiple options for each music position each month.
Result #4: The Worship Coordinator has effectively recruited, trained and equipped volunteer team leaders in worship ministry.
Result #5: The Worship Coordinator has managed all the regular details for weekly worship in a way that leaves volunteers and staff feeling prepared, equipped and excited to carry out their roles.
Result #6: The Worship Coordinator has scheduled all worship team members 3 months in advance and has sent Planning Center Online/Church Community Builder requests at least two weeks in advance.
Result #7: The Worship Coordinator has designed a rehearsal format and agenda to best equip worship volunteers and has helped facilitate and lead rehearsals.
Worship Planning & Implementation
The Worship Coordinator oversees, implements and executes all planning for Sunday worship services
Result #8: The Worship Coordinator has developed and directed a weekly worship planning meeting to provide nuts & bolts for weekly worship with the senior pastor, worship leader and/or other staff and volunteers.
Result #9: The Worship Coordinator has ensured that creative plans for worship service are in place at least 2 weeks ahead of schedule and has managed all the details of incorporating creative design elements into worship services.
Result #10: The Worship Coordinator has led worship weekly.
Result #11: The Worship Coordinator has prepared whatever music is needed for rehearsals each week.
Result #12: The Worship Coordinator has prepared the slideshow for ProPresenter (Or other presentation software) prior to rehearsal on Sunday mornings.
Worship Technology
The Worship Coordinator implements and leads all aspects of the worship technology and tech teams at First Christian Church.
Result #13: The Worship Coordinator has worked with the tech team leader and ensured that volunteers have been recruited, equipped, scheduled and cared for on tech teams.
Result #14: The Worship Coordinator has overseen the purchase, maintenance, and care of tech equipment and church-owned musical equipment.
Result #15: The Worship Coordinator has recruited, trained, and equipped volunteer team leaders in the tech ministry.
Working Relationships
Reports to First Christian Church Senior Pastor.
Works alongside of other First Christian Church staff members.
Provides direction and oversight for worship staff and volunteers serving in areas of responsibility.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements for the position include:
A demonstrated ability in staff and team leadership, coaching, equipping and discipleship,
Strong interpersonal skills, coachable, and self-reflective
Ability and passion for worship leadership,
Ability to meet deadlines, troubleshoot, and offer solutions
Systems development
A capacity for musical leadership
Ability to foster unity.
3 years Worship leadership experience and/or education is required.
As with all church staff positions, the First Christian Church Worship Coordinator must have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, an active prayer life, and a servants heart.
