We have a position open for a Business Analyst in Frankfort, KY. The Business Analyst will be part of the development team and will work at the direction of a Project Manager. The customer has identified multiple development requests. The Business Analyst will be responsible for all documentation of these requests. The Business Analyst will also be part of the testing of these requests to validate the implementation. The Business Analyst will also be responsible for working with the team in resolving trouble tickets.Primary Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):

  • Lead or participate in requirements gathering/JAD sessions; working closely with Project Manager(s), SME's, Vendor, Programmers and Business Users.
  • Define and document requirements and use cases.
  • Troubleshooting application and/or interfaces as problems arise.
  • Troubleshooting report issues.
  • Coordinating the UAT testing.
  • Working with user community and vendors to meet implementation timeline.
  • Support application/project go-live.
  • Demonstrating a high level of working knowledge with IS methodologies and processes (i.e. Project Life Cycle, System Development Life Cycle and IS Change Management process).
  • Gathering detailed requirements that completely define the project.
  • Create high-level models and user prototype interfaces to identify and validate business processes and resolutions when appropriate.
  • Facilitating business/functional requirement review, approval, and sign-off sessions.
  • Administering communication activities with end-user training for system implementation.
  • Identify business trends utilizing real data, compile analysis reports delivered to developers and then follow-up on all results.
  • Perform quality assurance.
  • Help with process improvement, Client issues, and deliver better value.
  • Providing leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to junior staff.
  • Prioritizing initiatives based on business needs and requirements.
  • Effectively communicating insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.
  • Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements. Monitor SLA's.
  • Develop comprehensive test cases at the application and multi-application levels. Conducting and directing end-user testing responsibilities.
  • Working with a CRM system to respond to users issues.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of recent, relevant work experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Product Suites (Word, Excel, and Visio).
  • 5+ years working in a Business Analyst position.
  • Experience defining business problems, gathering and documenting requirements, determining business solutions and verifying solutions meet requirements.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodology.
  • Ability to handle extreme workloads with general direction.
  • Relationship management and facilitation skills.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills.
  • Strong decision-making ability.
  • Must be adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Experience with replacing legacy systems preferred.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and in conjunction with team members.
  • Experience working with a CRM system.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of Department of Public Health systems (including, Birth certificates, Death certificates, marriage and divorce systems, etc ), with the ability to understand and communicate from a business and technical perspective.
  • 5+ years working in a Business Analyst position for a large-scale IT system.
  • Experience utilizing a CRM system.
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional Certification (CBAP).
