ESSENTIAL FUNTIONS :

Correctly identify materials (resins, oils, and water, etc.) and prepare compounds of needed quantity and specified accuracy in weight to support the production requirements of a mass mill to meet established standards.

Assist the operator in all facets of mass mill operation including putting a mix on the mill, adding compounds taking mix off the mill and housekeeping.

Operate the mill in the operator’s absence and relive him or her for breaks. Be able to perform all functions that the operator is responsible for.

Provide break relief for other personnel in accordance with established procedure.

Notify supervisor immediately if any unusual appearance, package markings, etc. is noted on materials.

Cut up pans of blend in material such as calender extruder flush out and blend it into mixes as directed.

Grind resins as required.

Help the operator check the operation of the safety bar and cord at the start of every shift and be able to perform a mock evacuation drill.

Report all quality and maintenance problems to your Supervisor and maintenance.

Assist operator in putting up a roll of pan liner when necessary. Assume primary responsibility for cutting pan liner and dusting pans with clay as needed.

Take any cardboard left from materials or pallets upstairs to the banbury room and put it on the card board pallet.

Follow all department safety rules and company rules and regulations.

Keep the scales and chemical area neat, clean and orderly. Sweep off the scales regularly.

Be able to perform a mock mill evacuation drill.

Work as a team with the operator and other members of the department, to accomplish all job requirements.

Understand how to handle hazardous material such as oil, grease, rags, etc. and how to dispose of them properly.

Ensure that the empty pans on the backside of the 120# mills are neatly and properly stacked.

Avoid over-compounding; make only the number of compounds needed to complete the number of mixes at the mill.

Operator or compounder must stay within 10 feet of the mass mill at all times.

Clean pyrometer thoroughly at the end of the shift.

Perform other duties as required or directed.

QUALIFICAITONS:

High School Diploma or GED

Previous manufacturing experience preferred

Must have excellent attendance

Maintain a safe work environment

Must be able to work overtime as required

Must be able to perform all duties in a safe and effective manner

Ability to read and write.
