The University of Kentucky HealthCare (UKHC) is seeking a Senior Information Security Analyst. This individual will be a member of the information security team supporting cyber defense, incident response, and vulnerability management strategies identified by the Chief Information Security Officer. Job duties of the Senior Information Security Analyst include:

  • Identifying, prioritizing, and coordinating the protection of critical cyber defense infrastructure and key resources.
  • Characterizing and analyzing network traffic to identify anomalous activity and potential threats to network resources.
  • Providing timely detection, identification, and alerting of possible attacks, anomalous activities, and misuse activities.
  • Documenting and escalating incidents.
  • Performing event correlation.
  • Isolating and removing malware.
  • Reconstructing malicious attacks or activity based off network traffic.
  • Analyzing identified malicious activity to determine weaknesses exploited, exploitation methods, and effects on systems and information.
  • Coordinating with enterprise-wide technicians to resolve cyber defense incidents.
  • Creating, editing, and managing network access control lists.
  • Analyzing cyber defense policies and configurations and evaluating compliance with regulations and organizational directives.
  • Preparing reports of network events and activity.
  • Performing technical and non-technical risk and vulnerability assessments.
This position is currently remote but may require occasional on-site attendance (i.e., meetings.) The ideal candidate for this position will have a bachelor’s degree; at least five years of related information technology experience; current CISSP certification; and experience with network protocol analysis, log analysis, perimeter security technologies; and Qualys, Nessus, Metasploit, Splunk, Crowdstrike, and Palo Alto and Cisco firewalls.
