Contract to Hire Opportunity A Field Service Tech is needed to service our clients in an approximately 70-mile radius in the metro Louisville, KY area. The candidate should be within 15 miles of the target zip code of 40209. This position involves hands-on work diagnosing and fixing problems focusing on the mechanical repair of equipment. Applicants must have component-level repair experience with desktops, laptops, and printers including HP, Dell, Lenovo, and Lexmark equipment. Work shift is Mon-Fri, 9:00-6:00 with on-call participation rotating once every 3 to 5 weeks.

  • This is a driving position which requires a DMV background check to be completed
  • Use of reliable, personal vehicle required - miles reimbursed according to CompuCom policy
Overview:
  • Technician will travel to each client s location to provide service
  • Must maintain good customer focus meeting deadlines and service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs desktops, laptops, servers, and printers
  • Works under general supervision
Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience running service calls to support desktops, laptops, and printers
  • Very strong customer service experience required
  • Ability to work weekends, staggered or late shifts possibly including evenings and/or weekends
  • Interpersonal skills needed to interact with a wide range of users and environments
Basic Needs / Haves:
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver s license required (driving position - reimbursed accordingly)
  • Ability to work from a bent, crouched, or kneeled position
  • Ability to work on a ladder or lift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Smartphone with tethering / hot spot capabilities (reimbursed within corporate guidelines)
  • Laptop and basic hand tools required
Preferred:
  • CompTIA A+ certification
  • Networking skills
  • All experience with computer and network hardware a plus
