Business Information Analyst Sr/Consultant - Health Economics - PS52904 Job level to be determined by experience level at the discretion of the hiring manager. Location: Minnesota, MN; Richmond, VA; Atlanta, GA; other Anthem office locations will be considered as this position will be remote. The Business Information Analyst Sr/Consultant is responsible for analyzing, reporting, and developing recommendations on data and systems related to value-based payment models (e.g., Accountable Care Organizations, Patient-Centered Medical Homes, and Bundled Payments). The Business Information Consultant typically provides guidance to lower level staff. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Participates in software development lifecycle (SDLC) tasks including eliciting requirements/user stories, planning, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) alongside stakeholders and IT/Digital partners.
  • Uses SQL to create, maintain, and manipulate databases to track business performance.
  • Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.
  • Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.
  • Creates and publishes periodic reports, as well as any necessary ad hoc reports.
  • May require taking business issue and devising best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools.
  • May make recommendations based upon data analysis.
  • Provides analytic consultation to other business areas, leadership, or external customers.
Business Information Analyst Sr Requirements:
  • Requires a BS/BA degree in related field; 3-5 years data analysis or related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools (SQL) and statistical software (SAS) is required.
  • Ability to manipulate large sets of data.
  • Strong analytical, organization, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • This job is focused on complex and varied metrics, making recommendations, and providing assistance to staff as compared to the Bus Info Analyst II job.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and/or ServiceNow is a plus
Business Information Consultant Requirements:
  • Requires a BS/BA degree in related field; minimum of 5 years' experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Strong writer and oral communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools (SQL) and statistical software (SAS) is required.
  • Ability to manipulate large sets of data.
  • Strong analytical, organization, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • This job is more focused on higher level technical expertise, mentoring staff in lower job levels, more customer facing, higher level of collaboration, work is higher volume and/or higher risk, as compared to the Bus Info Analyst Sr job.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and/or ServiceNow is a plus
