DescriptionThe Senior Accountant performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets and profit-and-loss statements. Develops or assists in the documentation of accounting processes. The Senior Accountant work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Accountant prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles. Provides financial support, including forecasting, reporting, and explaining account activity. Analyzes and prepares account reconciliations, trend analysis, and ad hoc reports. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. The associate in this role will need to understand how to research, account and report complex accounting transaction. This role has the potential to impact, improve and optimize various processes; process improvement is a plus.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent

5+ years of technical experience in Accounting and/or Finance

Progressive leadership and management experience

Prior experience within the financial industry

Strong communication skills

Ability to research accounting positions using GAAP codification or FASB

Ability to collaborate with individuals on the team and across multiple areas of finance

Work with little to no guidance

Problem solver

Preferred QualificationsMaster's Degree in Business Administration

Advanced Knowledge with MS Office Applications (Excel, Access, Word, etc.)

Proficient in Excel and the various efficiencies such as Macros, Power Query, Power BI, Power Pivot, etc.

Strong experience with PL/SQL or another SQL data mining and coding applications

Certified Public Accountant license

Ability to lead projects

Process improvement
