- BS in Computer Science or related field.
- 8-10 years of experience independently managing complex projects involving cross-functional internal and customer stakeholders
- Experience with several server-side languages and willing to pick up some knowledge of the languages used in the organization to understand existing solutions and to prototype solutions.
- AWS Components and Ruby on Rails are heavily used in our organization. Other languages such as Python, C#, and PHP are also used by various teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for overall architecture, product, and application design
- Strong leadership skills to mentor and assist less experienced team members.
- Strong background in AWS solutions, an AWS “Solutions Architect – Professional” certification is strongly preferred.
- Self-starter with an ability to solve problems with little or no direction and a passion for driving change.
- Actively work tickets within sprints, collaborating with team members to execute on new features / enhancements, as well as technical priorities
- Identify areas of our solutions that you believe can be improved either by simplifying the design, reducing cost or allowing us to break up our solutions to allow more teams to work independently on them. Suggest those improvements with Engineering leadership.
- Attend sprint planning meetings to keep current our systems. Look for opportunities to work toward a better design of our software systems as they evolve.
- Be a subject matter expert on our systems able to communicate to internal and external stakeholders.
- Take the lead on solving difficult technology problems that frustrate other Engineers. Develop prototypes to solve these difficult problems and work with the development team members to convert those prototypes into production code owned by the development teams.
