position is to repair, overhaul, rebuild, modify, test,

troubleshoot, remove, replace, align, calibrate, insect and mate

avionics integrated electronic systems. Serves as an Air Reserve

Technician (ART) providing training to reservists in the

Position may or will require incumbent to Fly in military and/or

commercial aircraft in the performance of temporary duty (TDY)

assignments

Required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements.

Incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties:

however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties,

generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities

Position may require a background security investigation to

determine suitability for employment and/or a security clearance

This is a drug testing designated position (TDP). Incumbent will

be subject to random testing

Physical effort involves lifting components and equipment and

working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Items lifted

generally weigh up to 40 pounds and occasionally objects

weighing in excess of 40 pounds.

Work is performed inside a shop environment and outside on the

aircraft, subject to inclement weather

Mechanics are subject to injuries such as cuts and bruises and

may be subject to danger from exposure to hazardous materials,

high pressure air, high noise level, electronic shock, RF

radiation, and burns form soldering irons.

QualificationsApplicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification

Standard Handbook X-118C. Although a specific length of time and

experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must

meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and

training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill

necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for

which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on
