agencies and other local government entities; building and maintaining strategic
relations, alliances and coalitions; developing and implementing strategic
initiatives, outreach and education of services.The person who holds this position will be responsible for
promoting effective utilization of available services, both Medicaid and
non-Medicaid, through the state of Louisiana. The goal is to help empower Healthy Blue members and their families or
caregivers and help them avoid the continuation or escalation of behaviors. The
incumbent will serve both as a resource and as a positive role model for
parents/caregivers on how to deal creatively and persistently with frustrating
behavior, and supports caregivers in the development and strengthening of
members’ competencies that are required for safe and successful continued residence
in his/her home community.The ideal candidate will have past personal experience as a
behavior health consumer and/or be a parent with experience advocating on
behalf of a minor child. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:· Plans, facilitates, and manages meetings;
provides documentation to the State to maintain contractual compliance and to
Health Plan leadership for use in service delivery improvement.· Attends partner agency meetings at the request
of a State agency/department.· Establishes and maintains strategic
relationships with state, business, and local government entities and members.· Collaborates with Medical Director and Service
Coordination staff to address the needs of members with complex· Establishes and maintains strategic
relationships with mental/behavior health advocacy agencies throughout the
state· Develops educational Power Points and presents
materials to advocacy agencies, business, local and state entities, members and
care givers.· Experience working collaboratively with advocacy
groups, local and/or state government to promote policy or legislative change· Experience interfacing with state government:
Foster Care, Juvenile and/or adult Judicial System, Office of Behavior Health,
Office of Development Disabilities, etc.Requires a BA/BS in Business
Administration, Political Science, Marketing, Communications or a related
field; 5 years of experience in an administrative, social work or other role
with local government entities related to health or community service; or any
combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent
background. MBA or MPH preferred. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Ability to understand and demonstrate
sensitivity to the challenges of working with multicultural membership across
the state of Louisiana. Ability to work effectively with individuals and
families from diverse cultural backgrounds maintaining sensitivity to ethnic,
