Managers assign projects during Preconstruction activities and in a facilitation and coordination role in conjunction with the assigned Construction Project Engineer during Construction Phase.10% Serves as the primary assistant to the Program/Project Manager (Engineer). Work includes report preparation using Excel, LaGov and Site Manager, coordinates with Project Managers, track projects from inception through closeout, attends meetings, prepares budget requests, and performs duties as assigned to administer all of the programs.25% Coordinates the work of DOTD staff from multiple disciplines assigned to the projects including Road Design, Bridge Design, Environmental, Real Estate and Utilities. Oversees the work of consultants engaged to provide specific functional and technical expertise for the project. Reviews, evaluates, and recommends approval of the designs and plans prepared by sponsors and/or consultant engineering firms for a variety of complex engineering projects. These projects must conform to Federal and DOTD design policies.10% Prepares, negotiates, administers, and oversees Consultant services contracts related to the delivery of projects and programs within the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP).10% Coordinates plan reviews with other sections within DOTD and ensures Sponsors and/or consultant engineering firms address comments. Based on project type, distributes plans for review and comments by other sections within DOTD, which include but are not limited to the following sections: Real Estate, Environmental, Landscaping, Electrical, Mechanical, Bridge Design, Traffic Services, Construction and appropriate District. Responsible for the processing approved design plans, technical specifications and cost estimates for projects through the DOTD system for letting.10% Develops and/or updates agreements for individual projects. Ensures that the agreement accurately reflects the duties and responsibilities of the parties, the scope of the work being performed, and the federal funding limit for project.
