The Position:

You will be the right hand person to busy attorney/s who enjoy the work they do for the community. This is a mid-sized law firm that treats their employees well and we are looking to find the right long term employee to join this friendly, helpful team!

You will be supporting our practice by preparing documents like affidavits and legal correspondence, as well as organizing and maintaining files. You will also be asked to file pleadings with court clerks and help prepare for trials by organizing exhibits and assisting with other tasks as required.

Some of the particulars include:

Preparing and organizing documents including affidavits, legal correspondence, court pleadings, briefs, wills, contracts, real estate closing statements, pleadings, appeals, etc.

Meeting with clients, attorneys, and other professionals to talk about case details and prepare for trial.

Investigating facts and laws of cases and searching public records and other resources to prepare cases and determine causes of action

Directing and coordinating law office activity, including delivery of subpoenas

Gathering and analyzing statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes, documents and other data

Keeping the law library up-to-date by monitoring legal volumes.

The Candidate (You):

This role offers a lot of variety and a candidate with three or more years of personal injury law experience will do well. The Perfect Candidate would have 3+ years of personal injury law experience, court filing experience, be tech savvy and a desire to continue to learn technology and increase efficiencies, comfortable in a paperless environment,

Paralegal certificate, Associates or Bachelors degree preferred, Ability to multi-task and work independently and within a team.

Soft skills needed are: ambition, self initiative, fast learner, team player, excellent follow through and enthusiasm.
