We build websites, web applications, and mobile applications that allow businesses and citizens to access information and complete business online with the state of Louisiana.The Business Analyst is an individual contributor that is responsible for participating in development, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications. They will participate in project teams within an assigned business unit or corporate department and utilize various technology platforms. They will also collaborate with business partners, and other technical staff to identify user requirements, assess available technologies, and recommend solution options.Key Responsibilities:- Gather testing requirements by participating in interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, site visits, business process observation, use cases, scenarios, industry research, reverse engineering existing software, and task and workflow analysis
- Drives the definition, elicitation, prioritization, delivery, and validation of business requirements
- Competently conduct functional tests on changes introduced by a project along with documenting and sharing the results for developmental revisions, project record keeping, and software audits
- Assist in validating proper functionality as changes are promoted to operating environments, such as the Test, User Acceptance, Stage, and Production environments.
- Support Business Users during User Acceptance testing to assure their full understanding of the changes and effective methods to verify acceptable functionality
- Assure issues and risks exposed during testing are clearly understood by project management and the business owners
- Successfully support multiple products simultaneously
- Work independently yet collaborate with requestors, Product Owners, Project Managers, Developers, Business Analysts and Subject Matter experts
- Acquire subject matter expertise in applications undergoing improvement including demonstrating and describing the applications and processes to interested parties
- Support the Development team during the design and development phases to be sure the current functionality and ramifications of changes are fully understood
- Participate in maintenance of User Guides and other release documentation (i.e. Release notes) in conjunction with Project Management
- Delivers clear, concise requirements for complex solutions
- Ensure product solution meets requirements and functions properly
- Ability to learn/grasp new technical concepts and technology quickly
- Stakeholder analysis, business rules analysis, decision analysis, data analysis and cost benefit analysis
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail
- 4+ years of Business Analyst experience
- Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into quality test plans.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
- Able to think independently and in a team-oriented environment where test planning/execution can be adapted to the needs of the project, yet not compromise the quality of the product
- Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work from home or in a traditional office setting
- Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
- Flexible during times of change
- Able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
- Customer service skills is an asset
- Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Computer Science, or Engineering.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented and results-driven

- Experience with web-based applications and online industry
- Project Management Experience, Product Management and/or Development experience a plus
- Agile and Waterfall methodology
