Job Description: Apex Systems, the nation's 2nd largest Information Technology staffing firm, has an opportunity for a Frontend Developer to work for one of our local clients here in Covington, LA.

Applicants must have 2-4 years of hands on experience with web applications and programming languages such as HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Knockout.js, and/or Responsive Design. Position Details:

Position: Frontend Developer

Location: Covington, LA (100% Remote)

Duration: 6 Month Contract to Hire

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Execute coding, testing and implementation within Optimizely
  • Creating visual elements for the site while having first-hand knowledge to make sure they work as desired within Optimizely
  • Follow testing and development standards for browser compatibility and site performance
  • Assist in identifying Optimizely platform improvements (internal user facing) and user experience enhancements (customer facing)
  • Work with additional developers to assist with the acceleration of development efforts, when necessary
  • Handle content page update requests having customized presentation requirements
  • Implement tags, data layers, and triggering rules through our third-party tag management solution
  • Continually and effectively communicate with team members and mangers on all issues and projects
  • Provide general support for the eCommerce team for promotional or other website or CMS updates
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Candidate must have a strong understanding of eCommerce UI/UX, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions, accessibility standards (WCAG), and security
  • Front end: deep expertise with at least 2-4 years hands on experience with web applications and programming languages such as HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Knockout.js, and Responsive Design
  • Experience working with Optimizely or a similar content platform
  • Back end: preference for candidates who have familiarity with back-end languages and technologies such as .Net or Blazer, GIT and API integrations (REST, GraphQL).
  • Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
  • Website Performance Monitoring utilities (e.g., New Relic APM & Browser)
  • Photoshop/Adobe Suite experience
  • Ability to prioritize and communicate well
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Resourceful, quick, and agile
  • Friendly, self-motivated, goal-oriented, creative, professional, who can work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects concurrently, manage levels of priority and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with a minimum amount of direction

  • Our client just launched an ecommerce sight where customers can purchase physical goods and digital products. A team of developers maintains and updates the website as needed.
