Job Summary: The DCS Network Administrator works as part of the Control Systems team which is accountable for the overall support and maintenance of Control Systems servers, data center architecture, and communications infrastructure. The DCS Network Administrator is responsible for performing routine administration activities, such as monitoring performance, installing patches and systems upgrades, scheduling and running jobs and supporting Cyber Security procedures. As well as, troubleshooting and resolving issues with controls networking, and server equipment. Job Description: Job Responsibilities: Server Infrastructure- Provides aid with the implementation and support of all data center functions including servers (physical and virtual), VMware, Dell/EMC storage, mobility, system backups and replication, Windows server, Active Directory, GPOs, WSUS, DNS, DHCP, DFS, Anti-Virus Software.
- Follows established Cyber Security policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks. Supports standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions across enterprise-wide hardware and software applications.
- Participates in disaster recovery testing.
- Assist DCS project teams with DCS server Infrastructure modifications and set-up.
- Performs routine maintenance procedures as well as troubleshooting and repair work on servers, applications, and related hardware and software.
- Manages equipment and software life cycles.
- Translates business requirements into network or process designs .
- Participates in planning and recommending network hardware, system management software and architecture.
- Monitors network performance and capacity planning and assists in assessing and making recommendations for improvement.
- Configures network equipment such as switches, firewalls, etc. as needed for control systems.
- Manages network equipment Life cycles.
- Monitors server performance and may provide recommendations for performance improvement.
- Performs basic, and advanced troubleshooting of hardware and software problems. May recommend and implement solutions.
- Monitors system logs and monitoring systems to ensure proper functioning of server and security functions.
- Participates in regular server patching and maintenance.
- Coordinates and facilitates technical support from Vendors assigned to the DCS department.
- Available for afterhours support as required.
