We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Linux System Administrator Jnr./Mid for a Full-Time position. Job Summary: The Linux System Administrator (Jnr./Mid) shall provide senior support for the areas of system administration, data center operations, workstations, virtualization, storage, and network to a complex infrastructure environment through the infrastructure service lifecycle. In addition, Linux System Administrator shall perform the following tasks:
- Install, configure, and administer Red Hat Linux workstation and server environment
- Address junior system administration responsibilities including user accounts provisioning, and repeatable tasks
- Resolve tasks and incidents to resolution using the corporate ticketing system
- Take direction in supporting and collaborating with cross-functional teams which could include (but are not limited to) installing applications, and triaging advanced security alerts
- Triage system alerts with guidance from senior staff
- Contribute to creating and updating documentation of procedures and guidelines for internal team use
- Communicate with team members, clients, users, and other stakeholders using common communication channels
- Experience with Red Hat Linux installation, configuration & administration. (3 years min experience)
- Some Experience with configuration and administration of Red Hat Satellite 6.
- Experience in writing administrative shell scripts, e.g., in bash or python, and automation scripts, e.g., Ansible. (2 years min experience)
- Securing/hardening Linux systems following Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs);
- Experience with NFS, NIS, DHCP, AD integration, Automounts, user provisioning, CUPS printing, SMTP, Postfix, Samba/CIFS, TCP/IP, and DNS.
- Experience with Network Attached Storage filesystems, e.g., NetApp storage appliances.
- Deployment, configuration & maintenance of security software, e.g., Symantec virus scanning & BigFix monitoring software.
- Experience writing Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs);
- Excellent communication skills for interfacing with end users
- Familiarity with VMware (or other) virtualization.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps concepts & practices.
- Familiarity with Containers, e.g., Docker.
- Any cloud experience.
- Datacenter experience
