Position Description Join this exciting new project as a Kafka Administrator! With your required expertise, you will work with a high-performing client-based and client-facing team. You will support and interact with the client daily in an Agile way of working. You will have the opportunity to show/grow with technology in a customer-facing role. You should be self-motivated to drive solutions and proactively create (in sufficient detail) the documentation required to support and describe technical solutions. You should be able to work independently under limited supervision and apply your knowledge of Kafka. You will work with architects and should have sufficient knowledge and maturity to effectively deal with technical issues and help to support the broader team. Your success will be directly related to CGI's and our client's success.

Your future duties and responsibilities The Confluent Kafka Administrator will be responsible for assisting with the design, architecture, implementation, and on-going support of Kafka clusters on an Event Streaming Architecture Pilot project. In this role, you will manage large scale multi-node Kafka cluster environments. We need a resource to handle all Kafka environment builds, including design, capacity planning, cluster setup, performance tuning, and ongoing monitoring. You will perform high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for the Kafka Cluster standing up and administering on premise and Azure Kafka platform.Provide expertise in Kafka brokers, zookeepers, Kafka connect, schema registry, KSQL, Rest proxy and Kafka Control center.Ensure optimum performance, high availability and stability of solutionsCreate topics, setup redundancy cluster, deploy monitoring tools, alerts and has good knowledge of best practices.Provide administration and operations of the Kafka platform like provisioning, access lists Kerberos and SSL configurations.Use automation tools like provisioning using ARM templates, ansible and cp-ansible.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role Minimum of 7-10 years of professional experienceExperience administering the following Event-Driven Architecture Components:7 years with Apache/Confluent Platform Kafka 2 years ZooKeeper, Confluent Control Center, Confluent Schema Registry, Connect clusterUnderstanding of Data access, Data Retention, and archivingExperience performing Confluent Platform installation, upgrades, and maintenanceExperience working with Confluent Security Plugins, GSSAPI, mTLS, ACLsExperience on cp-ansible and different confluent connectors5+ years of experience as the Unix/Linux Systems Administrator• MicroStrategy Tableau
