This position requires the ability to read for and comprehend minute details, the willingness to follow training, set instructions, and protocols in order to comply with federal and state legal requirements, and regular daily attendance in order to meet legal deadlines. Technicians must process medical records requests from both paper and electronic formats. Safe handling of protected health information is taught and required for all aspects of the position. The work is to be preformed in medical facilities within the Lake Charles area. Must be able to lift 35 pounds. Employment will be probationary for a minimum of 60 days, during which time training occurs. Extension of the probationary training period may occur at the discretion of management. Listed below are some of the requirements for performing essential job functions: Basic keyboard ability Ability to learn and use electronic health records systems with training Ability to learn and use proprietary company software with training Reading comprehension Telephone interaction skills Ability to focus on detail-oriented work Willingness to take instruction and follow directions Ability and willingness to work quietly without disrupting surrounding medical staff Ability and willingness to refrain from continual personal cell phone use while on the clock Accuracy in reading and relaying numbers and letters in all forms of communication, written and oral
