Are you ready to join the world’s largest independent refiner? Valero is on the search for energetic and motivated students to join the Valero Intern Program. The internship program has openings for Human Resources Interns who are ready for new and exciting challenges in a fast-paced environment.The Human Resources Internship will provide you with practical HR experience in a refinery setting and exposure to key facets of human resources.Major Accountabilities:

Assists with the development, review and communication of various practices and policies.

Participates in HR communication initiatives and special projects.

Assists with the recruiting and onboarding process.

Assists with the development and distribution of quarterly reports to corporate and refinery management.

Researches employee complaints and provides recommendations to management for resolution.

Prepares routine and ad hoc reports as needed.

Assists with the coordination and administration of special events, such as company and/or site-wide recreational activities and employee recognition events.

Assisting with Labor and Employee relations.

This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree (or higher) in Human Resources or related business field required.

Overall GPA of 3.0 (or higher) on a 4.0 scale preferred.

Obtained at least 60 credit hours by the start of internship required.

Graduation dates of August 2020 through May 2022 required.

Able to work 40 hours per week during the Summer required.

Locations for the HR Refinery Intern (Summer 2020) include: Memphis, TN and Texas City, TX. All successful candidates must be eligible to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
