You will have access to the latest education, tools and technology, and a limitless career path with the world's technology leader. Come to IBM and make a global impact!You will work with various projects and clients, working towards client specifications. Your role will involve:Provisioning and configuring Oracle databases per client specifications.
Monitoring database health and availability.
Performing backups of database.
Managing database security and permissions.
Performing database recoveries.
Creating and refreshing Test and Staging databases from Production.
Keeping database versions current by patching regularly.
Required Technical and Professional ExpertiseAs an Oracle Database Administrator, we are looking for candidates with the following technical and professional background:High School or College Graduation (Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics)
At least 4 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator
At least 4 years experience provisioning and configuring database servers.
Performing Database Migrations
Experience with database backup and recovery
Experience administering DBMS systems running on Unix/Linux
Experience with database patching and upgrades
Experience with analyzing query execution plans and tuning the database accordingly.
Strong troubleshooting skills to investigate errors and performance bottlenecks
Willing to work in a 24x7 production mission critical environment, including weekends
Must be detail oriented and have critical thinking skillsPreferred Technical and Professional ExpertiseKnowledge and experience in Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer
At least 2 years experience in Linux shell scripting
