RESOLVE Engineering Group (REG), a subsidiary of RESOLVE Marine Group [www.resolvemarine.com] (RMG), is seeking a Junior Salvage Naval Architect to support our global Emergency Response, Salvage and Wreck Removal operations. As a Junior Salvage Naval Architect, the role of responsibilities includes development of emergency response and wreck removal technical plans, engineering support for field operations as well as onsite field naval architecture support.

Our Junior Salvage Naval Architects travel the world supporting operations to save and salvage ships and marine vessels, conduct vessel wreck removal operations and emergency repairs. The Junior Salvage Naval Architect is a dual role position, supporting both RESOLVE Marine Groups (RMG) operations (both in the office and in the field) as well as REGs commercial engineering work in the office. This is a direct hire, full time position in REGs office located in New Orleans, LA, USA. REG provides naval architecture and marine engineering services to the marine industry in addition to supporting the global emergency response, salvage and wreck removal operations of our parent company, RMG. REG provides a wide range of naval architecture services to our clients ranging from fleet support, naval architecture and engineering calculations, vessel modifications and new construction projects.

Due to the nature of RESOLVEs operational requirements, it is imperative that candidates understand that if an emergency response or salvage operation is initiated by RESOLVE, your immediate presence may be required anywhere in the world. We anticipate that our Salvage Naval Architects will travel offsite of their home office up to 26 weeks a year, with a maximum single deployment of approximately 12 weeks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Proficient in hydrostatic calculations including the development of 3D hull models for using in stability software, with experience with GHS software preferred. Use of stability software and hydrostatics information to develop ground reactions, ballast/cargo discharge requirements and freeing force requirements.

Provide support to the Salvage Master and operations team as needed including the development of salvage plans, drawings and diagrams to support operations, preform initial emergency response surveys, towing plans and calculations, rigging design and vessel connections, vessel arrangements and site plans.

Develop 3D hull models for use in stability software for damage stability, salvage and wreck removal operations, with experience with GHS software preferred. Use of stability software and hydrostatics information to develop ground reactions, ballast/cargo discharge requirements and freeing force requirements.

Ability to write technical plans for various emergency response and wreck removal operations.

Develop structural design using first principle and advanced analysis calculations. Experience or ability to learn FEA structural analysis is strongly desired.

Working knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD software.

Familiarity with ship building processes and production design, including detailed engineering design and drafting experience.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with Microsoft Project also desired.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, providing technical support on-site or remotely.

Job Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or Ocean Engineering.

Engineer in Training (EIT) or ability to obtain EIT certification in Louisiana.

Must be able to travel domestically & internationally as needed to support emergency response, salvage and wreck removal operations.
