Hello!
Were opening our new hotel, ARRIVE Memphis, in August and were looking for a killer Beverage Director to help program and run our two bars.
On the first floor, weve got Hustle & Dough / Bar Hustle, an all-day bakery, café, and bar, striving to be the modern version of the perfect hotel cocktail bar. Our friends from Vice & Virtue are opening their first retail brewing location indoors as well.
In the basement, weve got Longshot, a neighborhood bar and lounge inspired by its location and design. Our focus is on house made sausages on fresh breads (baked upstairs at Hustle & Dough) and shuffleboard with killer cocktails.
Sounds fun, right?
It is. Except that its going to take some touch heres some caveats:
The bars need to feel completely different you cant use the same tricks at both. Even consider changing basic ratios and builds so they have totally different cocktail aesthetics and balance.
You need to be able to program and purchase responsibly. Just saying Im friends with all the reps isnt that impressive. We all are. Make smart, strategic product and concept decisions that help the business succeed in the long run.
You cant make every drink yourself, so youve got to build and leverage a team so theyre consistently making great drinks and providing great service. If your mentor came in unannounced on your day off and you didnt know, would you be comfortable with the service and cocktails they receive? Lets get to a resounding YES there.
Youre going to have to cover some management shifts. It all matters perfect drinks that leave the bar but dont get delivered to their intended recipient quickly by someone who cares and can make a connection arent really so perfect¦
Were going to push you to be better. All day, every day.
