Hey there!
Were looking for diverse Chef/Expert Sausage Maker to run our kitchen at Longshot, opening in August.
Longshot is a neighborhood bar and lounge inspired by its location and design. Our focus is on house made sausages on fresh breads (baked upstairs at Hustle & Dough) and shuffleboard. It goes without saying that were going to have other killer snacks and cocktails, too!
You will fit right in if you:
are a born leader and mentor who understands culture is everything,
know how to lead by example,
skilled butcher that knows how to handle a piece of meat, especially sausage,
understand that things will go wrong and it is how you get out of the weeds that defines your success and satisfaction,
are highly motivated and detail-oriented,
have fantastic organizational skills,
proudly run a clean kitchen and inspire others to follow your example,
have a critical palette and awareness of modern techniques, but you still respect the classics,
cultivate a strong collaborative environment where your teams voices are heard and the best course of action is executed through your confident leadership,
are not afraid to re-plate an entire table to get it right and communicate expectations to your team,
are humble but a bad-ass on the line,
are passionate about working with like-minded people and inspiring them to take on your role one day,
and are motivated to succeed and enjoy the journey, no matter how hard or difficult it may seem, theres always a glorious end to the chaos. Sometimes that might just be a shot and a beer with your team after the busiest and most challenging night of your lives.
We cant really do the project justice in this post, but here are some details:
Opening in late August on South Main and Butler, we are building an incredible bakery and partnering with an awesome local coffee roaster upstairs in the lobby of ARRIVE Memphis (a 62-room boutique hotel).
If you're worried that this is a boring hotel project, dont. That being said, if you're looking for a cushy hotel chef job, we're probably not the right place for you either.
