Job Details

Duties & Responsibilities Employee may be called upon to perform any or all of the following functions:

Work with Utility representatives and project team to determine interconnect station location and design requirementsParticipate in pre-kickoff meetings with Utility representatives to review information provided by the customer and discuss how best to proceedParticipate in kickoff meeting with developer to clarify project requirementsParticipate in site visits to determine the preferred and alternate locations for the station and any hinderances to constructionReview Utility Study Documentation to determine overall system impactsCoordinate the creation of the single line diagram, electrical layout, property layout and vicinity map drawings with the design teamSend all drawing out for internal reviewPrepare estimates and high-level schedules for the new station and any upgrade work required at existing stationsPrepare the Facility Study Report and submit for internal reviewFollowing review, update the Facility Study documents to incorporate changesReview and populate as necessary the Generation Interconnection Agreement to ensure it is aligned with the Facility StudyParticipate in handoff meeting with the project execution team if the Developer moves forward with the projectTake personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of your workBring potential project-related problems and possible solutions to the attention of the responsible partyTravel out of town for short periods of time as required by projects and assignments

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university, with a power background preferred. Preferred licensed professional engineer. If registered in a state other than where the engineer will practice, the employee must be able to obtain a license within one year of date of hire. A minimum of five years of related experience and/or proven knowledge in power engineering and design is required.

Strong Knowledge and understanding of substation components and their functionsKnowledge of design documents and drawings necessary to complete a projectKnowledge of engineering standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSIKnowledge of common word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail softwareWorking in a team environmentCommunicating effectively with co-workers, vendors, clients, etc.
