Hourly Rate: $49 W2; $57 CTC/1099 Job Description: The State of Maine Application Development Group in support of the Department of Education is currently seeking .Net Developers (PR4) with solid experience in designing, implementing, and supporting ASP.NET C# Applications with SQL Server as back end to help round out their team. The ideal candidate will work as part of an Agile team to define, create, and adapt data structures, and define systems integrations to meet the rapidly growing and highly integrated needs of the department. These positions will be expected to help increase quality in all aspects of our systems. Multiple positions are available. Your Duties will include: Design and delivery of code in large and complex systems. Follow standards and processes for the purpose of increasing quality in our applications. Participation in code review, Pair programming, Mob programming, and scrum ceremonies. Remediating and refactoring current deficiencies (technical debt) in our code base. Handling many aspects of the application, including but not limited to performance, scalability, security, and testing. You will be involved in design, development, coding, customization, configuration, testing, and deployment in support of enterprise packaged solutions. You will enhance existing systems by analyzing business objectives, preparing an action plan and identifying areas for modification and improvement. Monitor everyday activities of system and provide required support. Required Skills:

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or equivalent with 8 years relevant industry experience (8 years)
  • 5 years' experience in Microsoft Technologies e.g. .Net Framework v4.0 or above, C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, Web API, MVC, Entity Framework (5 years)
  • Experience with Object Oriented Design and Software Craftsmanship with a strong background in object-oriented development techniques and solid principles (5 years)
  • Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment (5 years)
  • Experience participating in Peer Code reviews, extreme programming, pair programming and mob programming (5 years)
  • Experience with general Internet technologies (CSS3, HTML5, JavaScript, Angular), web standards and internet protocols (5 years)
  • Experience in building security modules or safeguarding confidential and personally identifiable information (PII) data. Knowledge of FERPA is a plus. (5 years)
  • Ability to lead design sessions with decision makers, other Scrum Team members, system owners and end users. (5 years)
  • Hands-on experience building automated unit tests (5 years)
  • Experience creating technical specifications and test plans (5 years)
  • Experience developing and maintaining effective working relationships with business clients at all levels. (5 years)
  • Excellent communication (verbal/written), partnership and presentation skills. (5 years)
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new technologies (5 years)
Preferred Skills:
  • Relevant industry certifications (Microsoft) (5 years)
  • Experience with agile testing approaches (ATDD/BDD/TDD) and tools (MS Test, NUnit, XUnit, Cucumber/Specflow) (5 years)
  • Experience with Cloud Technologies e.g. Azure or AWS ecosystems (5 years)
  • Experience with SOA/REST Services/Web API/Microservices (5 years)
  • Experience in Continuous Integration and Delivery and other DevOps practices (5 years)
  • Experience with concurrent development source control (TFS/ADO) (5 years)
