DescriptionA well-known company is seeking a Payroll Clerk to fill a challenging position. A Payroll Clerk position has opened up at a dynamic company in the Non-Profit industry, which Accountemps has partnered with. This position will call for a variety of duties, including data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. This fast-paced and quickly expanding position will require the candidate to communicate effectively with both internal team members and outside customers. This Payroll Clerk opportunity is based in the Sanford, Maine area and is a long-term temporary employment role.Responsibilities
Be the main point of instruction/training contact to employees regarding payroll-related best practices
Reach out to employees via phone and email to obtain timesheet approvals
Build a system of administering and distributing reports
Build and run custom reports
Organize data into spreadsheets and the payroll system
Perform basic clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc
Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system

Eagerness to master new systems
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a must
Outstanding data entry skills
Previous payroll experience
Knowledgeable in Payroll software
Human Resources (HR) Administration experience
Compensation and benefits experience
Benefits administration experience desired
Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
