Organic, pasture-based farm is seeking a part-time bookkeeper to manage a variety of national sales accounts. Approximately 10-15 hours a week. Work can be a combination of in our office and telecommuting. Schedule is flexible. Bookkeeper will communicate with the company accountant who oversees the business finances. Base pay dependent on experience. Some training provided by the company accountant. Potential to grow with the company. Please send resume to John.
Basic Duties:
Purchase supplies and equipment as authorized by management
Enter vendor invoices into accounting software
Pay Supplier invoices in a timely manner
Pay any debt as it comes due for payment
Keep track of inventory and PO
Know how to record inventory and manufacturing accounting
Issue invoices to customers
Ensure that receivables are collected promptly
Record cash receipts and make bank deposits
Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy
Provide information to the top management, especially CFO who creates the company's financial statements
Calculate and issue financial analysis of the financial statements
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested
Desired Qualification:
Must HAVE basic accounting knowledge
MUST KNOW HOW TO JOURNAL ENTRY
MUST KNOW HOW to record inventory or use Cost of Goods Sold
Must have knowledge with QuickBooks Online/ Desktop. Preference will be given to candidates who know the software.
Have an Associate's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience, as well as a knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles.
Must be willing to take a basic bookkeeping TEST (passed or not)- this will help the company know where your strength and weakness.
