The Portland Food Co-op is searching for a Produce Department Manager. This position supervises all operations of the Produce Department, including the selection, ordering, pricing, merchandising and promotion of items and is responsible for the departments financial performance. This person supervises one buyer along with several department team members. They are responsible for scheduling, training, managing operations, and upholding performance and efficiency standards.
This is a fast-paced retail environment, requiring the ability to work well with others in a shared office, backroom and walk-in refrigeration spaces. Computer proficiency, strong leadership skills, and an understanding of retail math and financial statements is required, along with a dedication to exceptional customer service. This position requires the ability to stand, move, lift, and bend for extended periods of time. While we sell produce year-round and from all-over, local is our passion. You should share this passion for local agriculture as this position is vital to bringing more local food into Portland.
This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position. Evening and weekend availability is required.
