Langford & Low is hiring for a General Construction Superintendent to join the team in Portland, ME. Langford & Low is a Maine-based construction company serving the healthcare, education, retail, and corporate clients throughout New England. The General Construction Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the staff on Langford & Low’s construction sites, managing the scheduling, communicating with subcontractors and customers while maintaining compliance with safety regulations. Strong applicants will have excellent leadership skills, demonstrate integrity, value teamwork, and ensure success with completing projects on time and within budget.
Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinating of all work onsite while ensuring projects are completed within the project parameters.
Managing schedules, budgets, quality, and safety.
Responsible for overall site safety including coordination with our safety engineer.
Developing and maintaining the project schedule.
Maintaining open and productive communication with all employees, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
Developing and maintaining the highest standard for quality of all work.
Managing all field changes and ensuring changes with budget implications are handled quickly.
Maintaining all field documentation.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
5+ years of construction supervisory experience required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to manage a team
Proficient with scheduling software and MS Office Suite
Strong negotiation skills
Strong ability to earn trust, demonstrate integrity, and high value of teamwork
