Cozy Harbor Seafood, a leader in the Seafood processing industry, is currently searching for a Class B Driver. Candidate must be able to work a 5 to 6 day work week with shifts exceeding 10 to 12 hours. Flexibility required because driving could consist of early morning, late afternoon and evening work to satisfy business needs. The candidate is responsible for handling all freight inbound and outbound and ensuring proper documentation is appropriately completed. This position consists of regional travel as you pick up and deliver seafood to and from our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work scheduled shift with no unscheduled call outs, late arrivals or early departures.
Load and unload truck, either as "driver load and count" or using pallet jack and other equipment as available.
Complete scheduled and unscheduled deliveries to and from vendors as determined by the Warehouse Management.
Assist Warehouse personnel with unloading of deliveries and perform checks on materials as required.
Perform general maintenance on company owned/leased vehicles (e.g., inspect truck for GMP/Food Safety compliance and security as well as ordinary general maintenance).
Maintain cleanliness of work area and vehicles throughout shift and at the end of the shift.
Complete and maintain daily DOT trucking logs including safety inspection and daily driving log.
Report any conditions that need attention to appropriate Logistic Manager.
Follow all company policies and procedures with regard to safety, quality, sanitation, personnel, maintenance and equipment.
Assist with other distribution activities as needed.
Requirements:
Candidates must possess at least one year of commercial driving experience with knowledge of New England area and must be able to pass a DOT physical including drug test. Must be able to read and write in English and perform simple arithmetic. Candidates must be able to lift up to 90 lbs. on a regular basis.
