JOB DESCRIPTION

DEPARTMENT: Finishing

POSITION: Gluer Operator

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Safely set up, run and maintain a gluer machine. Maintain housekeeping standards in the area. Safely meet production goals by running at required speeds, meeting quality objectives and maintaining the reliability of the machine.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fully responsible for the production off of your machine daily

Positive attendance record

Make ready and running of job orders

Clean area and machine as needed

Fill out paperwork correctly

Oil and grease machines as scheduled

Stack cartons (All less than 50 lbs)

Understand and operate the glue systems

Troubleshoot Equipment

Data entry for production collection system

Perform all quality processes

Use of pallet jack to move units

Work in a safe manner

Must follow all safety procedures

Maintain housekeeping standards

Performs other duties as required

EXPERIENCE/REQUIRED SKILLS:

Must be able to use a tape measure

Must have mechanical ability

Must be quality conscious

Must be able to work independently

Must be highly safety conscious.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

Experience required:

Previous experience in this field is preferred but not required.

Mechanical ability:

Must be familiar with the workings of machines and their components and have an aptitude for mechanical work.

Math ability:

Must be able to do simple math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Read:

Must be able to read well enough to fully comprehend all forms and paperwork associated with this job.

Write:

Must be able to write legibly enough to fill out all forms and paperwork associated with this job.

Climbing:

None

Balancing:

None

Kneeling:

Bending legs at the knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.

Standing:

Particularly for sustained periods of time.

Pushing:

Minimal – Use electric and manual pallet jacks

Pulling:

Minimal – Use of electric and manual pallet jacks

Lifting:

Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. Lifting up to 50lbs required.

Sedentary work:

Exerting up to 10 pounds in force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Close vision:

Must be able to see and inspect figures and objects clearly at distances close to the eyes and accurately determine small flaws or defects in said objects.
