As a

Cloud IT Operations Manager you will operate and maintain common information technology services hosted on Microsoft Azure and collaborate with customers consume, streamline, and improve those services. Join our team of Azure professionals and accomplish what others only dream of. You will oversee the day-to-day support and operations of our cloud, managed services, and application onboarding team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of customer service, experience structuring and leading a 24x7 organization, and the ability to instill a high-performance culture in the team with a focus on teamwork, service excellence, and ownership for resolving customer concerns. As a manager, this person will play a critical role in the development and success of our Services strategy in DOD and will have the ability to build and grow the team that will enable advanced services for Care Communications.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Use knowledge of information systems architecture patterns to oversee operations and maintenance of multi-tenant common services such as Active Directory, DNS, Patch Management, and Endpoint Monitoring to support onboarding applications
  • Exposure to Microsoft 365 Modern Workplace migrations and implementation
  • Integrate Azure operations team's processes with customer's broader Enterprise IT cloud management capabilities to enable consistent and routine upgrade plans in addition to modifications and critical upgrades to common services
  • Serve as a leadership expert and drive the team to enable incident management, remediation efforts, and root cause analysis
  • Ensure all procedures are documented and defined as required by quality standards including maintaining required documentation for internal and external audits
  • Collaborate with technical support leadership on escalations or requests related to cloud and managed services
  • Use knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, virtual and physical networking , and cloud technologies to oversee a variety of cloud-hosted IT projects
  • Willingness to participate in after-hours (evenings and weekends) planned maintenance operations and troubleshooting of critical issues
  • Able to manage a 24x7 hour managed services team for DOD clients
  • Onboard and support clients in both NIPR and SIPR
  • Manage a team that will support multiple DOD clients and will primarily work in a secure space.

Location and Travel Details

This position requires travel and commute to one of the following SIPR locations:
  • Austin, TX
  • Aberdeen, MD
  • Adelphi, MD

Security Clearance and Citizenship Requirements

Must be able to obtain and/or maintain a Secret Clearance.

Profile of Success

  • Use Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or 3-5 years' experience in IT systems operations and management
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or other virtualization technologies, Windows and SQL Server, RedHat Enterprise Linux, Active Directory, DNS, and the DoDIN
  • Must have experience in leading and mentoring in a hands-on capacity to the managed services and onboarding teams
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic, and challenging environment.
  • This role will be required to draw on their technical services industry experience to create and adapt the services outcomes

Desirable Skills

  • Microsoft certifications, especially Azure related certifications
  • IT management certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CISSP, and Scrum Master
  • Project management and/or technical leadership experience on consulting projects for multiple clients at the same time
  • Understanding of features, functionality and capabilities of Azure AD, Azure Monitor, Azure Backup, Azure Security Center, Azure Policy, Azure Sentinel, Azure Automation (Runbooks, DSC, Update Management),
  • Experience with disaster recovery efforts for IT
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including strong presentation skills.
  • Possess analytical skills, general business acumen, group interaction and facilitation skills, project planning/project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical skills that provide focus on the areas that will most benefit the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively to groups inside and outside company.
  • Strong leadership skills including demonstrated success in change management, leading through influence and ability to translate technical expertise for non-technical stakeholders across the organization
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical service manuals, technical bulletins.
