Location: Adelphi, Maryland(may be open to a remote option (not CA, WA) but our strong preference is the DC area. Remote work possible but they need to come to office for major meetings. )

POSITION SUMMARY: The AVP leads the development of large complex Salesforce software projects - develops, maintains, and evolves the systems and technological solutions.The AVP assists Executives in defining organizational goals. The AVP recommends financial and human capital decisions that impact area of responsibility. The AVP has extensive business knowledge with a comprehensive understanding of functional area. The AVP assigns, directs, or oversees projects managing demand and resource availability. The position is responsible for the achievement of long- and short-term goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the Salesforce cross functional team of 10 to 30 staff within the Product and Technology team
  • Engage with business leaders in technology, sales, marketing, finance and other business functions to influence and create the right technical solutions to solve business problems and improve business processes
  • Oversee consultants and vendors when engaged on engineering projects and technical feasibility of solutions
  • Provide the right training and recommendations to drive effective technical design across the product teams
  • Oversee accountability around performance agreements
  • Develop and facilitate a continuous learning environment investing in the product team members professional growth
  • Performs related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:
  • 10+ years in Software Development/Engineering
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in Salesforce Development experience in terms of Sales Cloud, CPQ, Service Management and Communities
  • 3+ years in a direct employee management role as a in leadership role
  • Deep understanding of Agile
  • Experience driving positive change
  • Experience building and fostering relationships with other groups within the organization
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Extensive business knowledge with comprehensive understanding of the organization and functional area.
  • Ability to interpret business and operational needs and develop integrated, creative solutions.
  • Ability to analyze problems and develop creative solutions to complex issues.
